It's based on the unreleased hit and run seen at last con, but what is up with his Hodor Face?

one of the better of the set imo. Those arms are from the Wave 2 roadblocks hitting shelves now.

The teal! it burns my eyes, possibly the most disappointing of the set.

Overall I am disappointed. The Joes like a cohesive color scheme, some of the character selections seem off, and some of the new heads don’t impress me (Hit and Run, and Repeaters)  But i’d love to know your thoughts.

Last of the Cobra’s revealed for Joe Con 2013

gi-joe-the-rise-of-cobra-logoCrimson Asp and Saw viper are up. Saw viper is very purple, and the only thing Crimson about the Crimson Asp is that she has red hair.

HIT THEM UP HERE!

pics and some info below.

crimson-asp-joecon-2013_1359076769It’s a new head on a very Coil Friendly looking repaint of the Resolute Baroness

saw-vipers-joecon-2013_1359076792Arctic POC and moneybag Destro parts, upcoming Retaliation Airborne/canceled 30th Law head with DTC SAW viper helm.

I have mixed feelings on ASP, the paint scheme looks stunning, but why so coil friendly?

More G.I.Joe Collector’s club reveals!

gi-joe-the-rise-of-cobra-logoTwo new figures are up, Psych-out and Muskrat, both looking very much like the original figures from Rah. That was somewhat disappointing for me as I was hoping for more the modern 2004 look. Pysch-out’s gear especially suffers from lack of modernization, as well as with the way his paint apps appear to make his armor two pieces.

images are mirrored below or you can check them out at G.I.Joecon.com

Joe con news: image of Charbroil and info on Mortal’s lack of Chrome

gi-joe-the-rise-of-cobra-logoThe Club has updated their con page with a new image as well as more info. First up the info,  Many have wondered why Cobra Mortal did not have a  Chrome head. The club answered fan’s question by stating that there manufactures had no access to chroming.  It wasn’t a matter of unwillingness on the club’s but it could not be done.

On to the more exciting news, Charbroil!

The first Joe for the set revealed!

The first Joe for set revealed!

What a winner! Excellent parts used, they work surprisingly well as a flame retardant over suit, the vvv torch flamethrower is nice to see return, and the head is classic, and removable!

G.I.Joe convention exclusive figure images released + thoughts

gi-joe-the-rise-of-cobra-logoThe club has released preview images of 3 of the figures, Cobra Mortal, Frag Vipers and Letal (Frag Viper Leader)

I have to say I am instantly disappointed. Cobra mortals legs are the spindly 25th CC legs, and the frag and Letal viper bodies belong to the new “ultimate” se from Retaliation that has yet to see released. I really feel that those knees especially look awkward and the overall feel of that mold is more superhero than Joe. Letal’s colors, unless he actually glows in the dark, are far too bright and extreme for my taste. Looking on the positive side though,  the frag viper’s headsculpt is very nicely down and the gear is great too. Last year the con seemed to  to start with a bang and show their best figures first, but judging from the known list of figures the set will include, i don’t think that’s the case this year.

I’d love to your thoughts on the forums,

G.I.Joe convention 2013 brochure online now!

gi-joe-the-rise-of-cobra-logo Lots of information here. View the club’s site for full details, but the key information is

“G.I. JOE: Night Force is a covert unit specializing in nighttime surveillance and defensive operations. Each team member has been selected for their enhanced skills, sophisticated hardware and advanced technology to surprise and vanquish any enemy!

This fan favorite and highly requested team contains several of the classic Night Force members and some new additions available for the first time in the modern era 25A style.

Our special edition Nocturnal Fire squad includes: Charbroil, Hit & Run, Muskrat, Psyche-Out, Repeater and Spearhead with Max (NEW Bobcat).

The Cobra Demolitions Team is ready to take on any obstacle that gets in their path of destruction. Led by the mysterious Cobra Mortal, he employs Cobra Letal and the deadly saboteur Crimson Asp (NEW female character). Their specialized troopers include: Cobra Frag-Vipers x 3, Cobra S.A.W.-Vipers x 3.”

Letal is a foreign take on the Frag viper, hit and run is not originally in the Night force, and Asp was previously the name of a vehicle. Cobra Mortal is a more well known foreign figure, and night force is probably the most liked sub team.
