Announcing a LEGENDARY Western-Themed 1:18th Scale Toy Line Kickstarter Campaign!

Dallas/Forth Worth — When searching for highly articulated action figures in 1:18th scale, aisle 3C is looking like a modern ghost town these days. Therefore it’s no surprise that a number of small companies are striving to fill the gap for collectors of this action figure scale.

To this end, Chicken Fried Toys (CFT) is proud to introduce their Dime Novel Legends (DNL), their first-ever lineup of 3.75-inch, fully articulated, collectible action figures that bring back the essence of the American Frontier West. These 15 realistic reproductions of iconic Western archetypes feature authentic styling and looks, and include numerous accessories and gear that historically reflect the period between 1835 and 1895. This line will be introduced via Kickstarter campaign on October 1, 2016 and will run for six (6) weeks.

The Dime Novel Legends lineup will encompass characters drawn from the rich history of Frontier America during its expansion westward. While easily identifiable, these characters do not represent any single person from history, film or literature. Rather, they are an amalgamation taken from the collective imaginations of enthusiasts who have long dreamed of accumulating an entire Western community of cowboys, townsfolk, lawmen, bandits, and Native Americans from an often ignored and nigh-forgotten part of America’s unique and rich history.

Chicken Fried Toys will introduce these iconic action figures intended for the adult collector featuring 16 points of articulation as part of a Kickstarter campaign beginning October 2016.
Wave 1 will include:

Not Picard (Patrick Stewart, but not that one) revealed some wonderful images to us for this interview. With him we Tom and I(Sam) dive into the early 00’s and the “new sculpt” era of Joe with unreleased wax sculpts, preproduction information, trivia, and somehow we even end up talking transformers too. You can use the drop down “podcasts” menu above to listen via Itunes, stitcher, or our audio host but for your convenience it is also mirrored below. Be sure to scroll past it for the images, as well as the shout outs from this episode.

*Note some of these images were used after the recording for a Joedeclassified presentation at Coil Con 6. Thanks for letting me and James Kavanaugh do the presentation, it was an honor to be involved. I apologize to Pat, and to all of you, for the long time it took me to edit this.

Pat is also involved with both Joe Declassified and Yojoe. Both are wonderful sources of information on Joe.

If you like this kind of information, and are interested in the original 3 3/4 ” Joes check out Dan K’s Kickstarter for a book with even more never before seen images and info about the 80’s masterpiece that was G.I.Joe A Real American Hero.

Dig art? Check out Carson of 3DJoe’s Kickstarter for books collecting the art of G.I.Joe.

The Folks of Roma Collectibles are friends of mine, and I had a blast at the Ohio Toy and Comic Show,  Give their FB Pages a like, and seriously consider coming out next year.

Also Springboro Hobby has an ebay store with plenty of great items .Tell them I sent you!

(We also reference a previous that contains images, our first one! check it out here)

text notes:

Clutch was revealed via Nerdrahtio on time while I was behind on editing, this podcast should have come along with it. Expected to be open window boxed or classic closed box , but obviously won’t be a blind box.

Want to get a non chase Baroness?  Will red or blue do ?

No official announcements, but keep an ear out for Thundercats as it is a very strong possibility. (Update, thundercats ARE happening!)

Due to licensing TLS does not have the rights to do vehicles for TMNT and it’s not likely they can do playsets either. Tell playmates you want them to be allowed to!

Upcoming figs are designed to be workable with their vehicles and animals, and while it may not be true for the turtles you should be able to get a Joe on battlecat or he-man in your vamp.

Power Ranger wave 2 will still be MMPR, still working on how to get the individual zords to combine!

BONUS UPDATE: Jonathan Cathey has confirmed Street Fighter will have knee articulation and “be like Joe”

Many questions where from the TLS OFFICIAL FB GROUP which you can (and should) join HERE.
