Announcing a LEGENDARY Western-Themed 1:18th Scale Toy Line Kickstarter Campaign!

Dallas/Forth Worth — When searching for highly articulated action figures in 1:18th scale, aisle 3C is looking like a modern ghost town these days. Therefore it’s no surprise that a number of small companies are striving to fill the gap for collectors of this action figure scale.

To this end, Chicken Fried Toys (CFT) is proud to introduce their Dime Novel Legends (DNL), their first-ever lineup of 3.75-inch, fully articulated, collectible action figures that bring back the essence of the American Frontier West. These 15 realistic reproductions of iconic Western archetypes feature authentic styling and looks, and include numerous accessories and gear that historically reflect the period between 1835 and 1895. This line will be introduced via Kickstarter campaign on October 1, 2016 and will run for six (6) weeks.

The Dime Novel Legends lineup will encompass characters drawn from the rich history of Frontier America during its expansion westward. While easily identifiable, these characters do not represent any single person from history, film or literature. Rather, they are an amalgamation taken from the collective imaginations of enthusiasts who have long dreamed of accumulating an entire Western community of cowboys, townsfolk, lawmen, bandits, and Native Americans from an often ignored and nigh-forgotten part of America’s unique and rich history.

Chicken Fried Toys will introduce these iconic action figures intended for the adult collector featuring 16 points of articulation as part of a Kickstarter campaign beginning October 2016.
Wave 1 will include:

Creepiest Pet Shop is the cutest way to give Cthulhu a much needed pet

gaV-60yM.png large Levi Bushue Has created a card game that is just flat out adorable. The juxtaposition between the our culture’s fav monsters, elder ones, and B-movie gems and the cute art style fits together in a way that both compliment the other. This feels fresh in the way it’s combined, and each art shown so far glows with character.  You can check out his kickstarter HERE.

w/ 5 days to go Levi is super close to his goal. One amazing thing about this is that a portion of the profits go to non kill shelters!  So even a dollar is really worth giving!

I’ve placed a few more pics, along with his release about the set below.

Creepiest Pet Shop is a fast paced, family friendly card game where you help famous horror movie monsters adopt equally monstrous pets! Part of the profits from the game go to help animals in no kill shelters get the care they need until they can find forever homes! The game was designed as an homage to the great horror creature features that I grew up watching as a kid back in the old mom and pop VHS store days.

Indie Comic Star Madman in 3D

The Indie madman3DComic Star Madman is looking to go 3D via some 3D cards on kickstarter. You may remember a Madman action figure made it out via kickstarter in the past thanks to Fresh Monkey Fiction.

Press release below:

Mike Allred’s seminal pop culture hero Madman starts a Kickstarter campaign for 3D Trading Cards today. With copy and design by writer/comics historian Christopher Irving, and conversions by Christian LeBlanc of last year’s Madman In Your Face 3D Special Starring Frank Einstein, The Madman Comin’ Atcha 3D Trading Cards chronicle 20+ years of the hero’s comic book adventures in a retro-inspired trading card line.

“Christopher is a long time friend who has always been enthusiastic and supportive of what we do,” Allred notes. “It’s been big fun to let him loose on this, sit back, and watch him run wild! And you’ve all seen what Christian LeBlanc is capable of. Gonna be soopah cool!”

The trading card idea came after Irving and Fresh Monkey Fiction’s Bill Murphy successfully funded the Amazing Heroes Madman action figure late last year.

“It was a no-brainer to make trading cards of Madman,” Irving says. “And that’s fun. Sheer, sheer fun on pieces of cardboard. But since Madman, by nature, has to be different and more ginchy than the rest, I was jazzed to have Christian hop on board with me for this.”

“It was the honor of a lifetime to render Mike’s comics in 3D, and I’m ecstatic to be able to linger in Snap City for these cards, which we envision as a series of ‘greatest hits’ moments celebrating Mike’s work,” Christian says. “Just like before, I’m also fanning out over the amazing guest artists I get to work with. Visually and thematically, I feel like 3D just ‘works’ for Madman and his world.”

The Madman Comin’ Atcha 3D Trading Cards feature a 44-card deck with 36 Madman cards and an 8-card subset of The Atomics. A 10-card Artist’s Edition pack features conversions of classic Jack Kirby, Alex Toth, Frank Frazetta, and Darwyn Cooke Madman pin-ups; it also features original Madman images by Dean Haspiel (Billy Dogma, The Fox), Simon Fraser (Doctor Who, Nikolai Dante), George Folz (The Roman Nose with Seth Kushner), Terry Huddleston (Thaniel), Bizhan Khodabandeh (Little Red Fish), and Ethan Young (Tails, Nanjing). There are also bonus cards for higher pledge levels. The highest levels feature cards autographed by the new contributors and Allred himself.

The 30-day campaign is seeking a minimum goal of $3,500, with two stretch goals that will grow the set.
