While you’ve probably already heard the news, you may not have thought how it affected one of our favorite (and my personal favorite) 80’s properties. I’ve been slow to get this up (my apologies) but instantly upon hearing the news, I instantly thought about how growing up I had already seen women in combat. The ladies of G.I.Joe, may have even inspired some women out there, as the men of Joe inspired many boys to grow up to be soldiers. To me, it at least helped with acceptance. Even before this news was up the Joe movies were continuing to stick to the comics and cartoons and show us women in combat. The upcoming G.I.Joe retaliation has two tough ladies fighting on the Joe team.
While G.I.Joe may not be as well known as say G.I.Jane the movie, as portraying women in combat, it’s done it’s part, and will continue to do so.
To all our real G.I.Joes and G.I.Janes out there God bless, and although the ban is only just now lifted, we are thankful for the lives of all those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and this has already included women.
To Hasbro, way to predict the future and thanks for showing us positive portrayals of some tough ladies.
For those curious the list of female G.I.Joes are: Scarlet, Lady Jaye, Covergirl, Jinx, G.I.Jane, Bombstrike/also called Bombshell, Mayday, Doc II, Dailtone II, Hashtag, Helix, Freestyle, Vorana (or Diana/Volga), Firewall, Firewall II (IDW) Chameleon, Chameleon II (IDW)and I might even be missing some more from the IDW run.

Jinx may hail from the Arashakage, but in mutiple media has proven an important member of G.I.Joe (sadly out of all the Jinx toys we have been treated to lately, one that is screen accurate to this custom, doesn’t seem to be coming.)

Lady Jaye is the most military of all the main Joe ladies (Scarlet, Jinx, Cover Girl and herself) Sadly the movie figure doesn’t look like this look either (c’mon Hasbro!) also please ignore the old movie date! it will be out March 29th.
Keep up the good work ladies

655875 Ninja Army Special Ops $3.99
913370 Special Ops Starter Pack $4.99
835442 Special Ops Vehicles $24.99
913230 Special Ops Tomahawk $42.99
Special ops could refer to the G.I.Joe social game launched last year, or could refer to something else. With Starter packs and small price, it seems likely there is some kind of game element to these listings. The most exciting item is the Tomahawk, a classic helicopter many have sought after since Joe returned to shelves in the early 2000’s. Perhaps we will learn more at ToyFair!
one thought that quickly comes to mind, is hasbro really launching, Kre-0’s, minifigs, the regular movie line, and this special ops all at the same time? Share your thoughts on our forums here.

Serpentor’s Lair has been kind enough to exchange banners with us on our message board, and allowed me to share news with them about our custom contests. In return I’m also spreading the word about theirs. (which I will have to enter at some point, since i’m obviously ineligible to win on my own board) Check out the voting here, and don’t forget to come back to Toy Nation and hit up our G.I.Joe Forums. -revsears
G.I.Joe 12″ exclusives for the upcoming G.I.Joe convention are up, head to their site to check it out! I may not be a 12″ collector, but you have to respect your roots. The set this year features a James Bond style mission into an island and both Joe himself and a villain. To chat about the con or 12″ joes hit up our G.I.Joe Forum.

A new auction is up for a new canceled JP/G.I.Joe figure, we have talked about them before here on Toy Nation. Here is hoping he becomes common. This new figure has the head of Big Bad Toy Store exclusive Burnout and the body of a resolute cobra trooper in green. IMO the head is too big for the body, but that body would make a nice base for a Jungle Viper. The Last Jp figure on ebay went for over $300.00, so for those of you bidding, sorry for spreading the word and potential competition ! You can see them on ebay here, or here and Pics are mirrored below. As always, hit up our forums for discussion. -revsears
There is a ton of Joe News out there right now, and a lot to be excited about. Even though I didn’t get the club’s FSS, i did have the chance to get the JINX figure that put as a single on their website. I’ve been slow to get the review up, but finally i’m able to present her. Similar to her VVV figure, this Jinx isn’t just a red ninja in pajamas, she is a battle ready Arashakage Ninja Assassin.
Toy Nation user Skinny has let us know about a planned meet up in Rapid City South Dakota, I have qouted his message on the boards below. To stay update hit up his website, and always hit up the topic on our forums.
Got a convention coming up? Let us know here.

The excellent The Joe Report site, has posted a poll about what club members would like to see in their club magazines. Some of the choices included more 12″ content, more 3 3/4″ content or doing away with letters and shifting their cost elsewhere. Personally i voted to tend the letters and take it off of membership dues. The content could become available on the web, and if they fear piracy an App could be an option as well, although that might alienate those without smart phones. Make your voice heard, go vote, and check out the site while your there! (Credit to me knowing about the site, or the poll, goes to Whats on Joe Mind PodCast.)
To talk about all things Joe hit up our Forums.
