Sam (rev) Sears (myself) hosts this interview with Dan Klingensmith author of the upcoming book 3.75 ” Joe that delves into the origins of the 80’s and early 90’s big toyline, from it’s origins, designs, the creators stories, to unused concepts. Sam is joined by hosts Alex “Jaxs”, new comer Nate Blaine, and we were blessed to have What’s on Joe Mind Host Gary Godsoe as a host this episode as well.
You can Listen to it embedded below or on Stitcher HERE or Itunes key word nerdversity101 (note there were some technical issues that delayed this podcast being up, there is more info below)
We discuss Dan’s interest in the brand and segway to his book. We discuss the Flagg’s Origins, an alternate take on the B.A.T. (Battle Android Trooper) as well as an interesting early spin on Major Bludd and more. We then discuss the current state of the G.I.Joe brand and our hopes for the future.
This episode was plagued with issues. It was recorded prior to the Buzz Dixon interview but the data, after editing, become corrupted and i had to re edit the podcast, and even during the podcast, Nate Blaine lost service, my computer over heated which caused some confusion. We will try have Dan on again the in the future to make up for it but Gary and Alex really kept things going and I really thank them for it!
If you want to hear more from Dan @ hisfacebook page for his book and this group for his podcast covering behind the scenes of the toyline with the creators themselves. His old page also has a great set of pics as well
Hollywood Reporter and other places are saying Paul Fieg (known for his direction of “chick flicks”) is being tapped to direct a female Ghostbusters movie. Reports are conflicted as to if this would be a sequel of sorts or a reboot, it appears reboot is the correct answer.
I think it’s safe to say only one thing can be done:
(How’s that for hard hitting journalism?)

Early Today I received the 50th Anniversary G.I.Joe three packs that I had pre-ordered on BBTS. I was pretty stunned at the amount of paint errors and other issues with the figs, I was prepared for the feel of more “rubbery” plastic and some errors, but I felt it was worth putting up some quick pics.
First up a preview of things to come, “melted” collar Destro.”
Sometime ago, our friend Skinny uploaded the video below to his youtube channel. If you have never seen it, check it out below. I have been slacking with sharing some cool things, forgive me. -Sam
it’s been on my to do list for a long while, but now I’ve finally taken the time to add a “Blog Roll” to the site. Plenty of links to good places to read, learn form, discuss at, watch etc.
If you would like to add us to your blog roll (if you have one) let me know and I’ll add you. If you have added the .com in the past under our previous name (yournerdnation.com) I’d appreciate an update to the new one as the old one won’t be active forever, and of course let me know so I can add you to the blogroll!
Know something else, not even your site, that really deserves some attention on the list?
Join us (Aaron “solojones, Alex “Jaxs”, Sam or rev, and the Cornish Gamer) as we interview Buzz Dixon, possibly most famous for his roles as staff writer and story editor for Sunbow’s G.I.Joe cartoon. He has a bigger impact than that, and we talk about everything from Thundarr the Barbarian to his thoughts on fanfiction in general, but the key focus is his upcoming The Most Dangerous Man in the world which will is a “lost tale” of sorts. It will tell a story meant for the animated show prior to the inclusion of Serpentor and Cobra-La
