Paul Fieg to Direct female focused Ghostbusters Reboot (PLEASE NO!)

ghostbusterslogoHollywood Reporter and other places are saying Paul Fieg (known for his direction of “chick flicks”) is being tapped to direct a female Ghostbusters movie. Reports are conflicted as to if this would be a sequel of sorts or a reboot, it appears reboot is the correct answer.

I think it’s safe to say only one thing can be done:

The potential return of the Skeleton Warriors

skeletonwarriorAn officially licensed  resurrection of the mid 90’s  Skeleton Warriors franchise is up for your consideration on Kickstarter. You may remember  the property from the creator of Captain Power, which was made up of a syndicated cartoon for one season, 6 comic issues, and a series of toys.

This kickstarter focuses on the lead bad guy Baron Dark.  The Crew behind this kickstarter have had 3 successful Glyos based action figure kickstarters already.

You can find out more about the project from this interview they did with Moderately Geeky.

I was excited to hear that although  Baron Dark is 5″ (as well as the skeletons, including the glow in the dark ones) that the line is in 4″ scale according to the toon as the skeletons were monstrous. I would prefer the scale be fudged and these be at 4″ but it gives me hope that if successfully 4″ human figures could be possible.

If your interested in picking up the ENTIRE Skeleton Warriors series on DVD it’s really cheap on Amazon.

Again, give their kickstarter a look HERE.

If you would like Skeleton Warriors to be the focus of a future Nerdversity 101 episode, let us know in the comment sessions.

G.I.Joe, Doctor Who, and True Blood Comic Apps removed from the IOS Store.

What does this mean for the future of the brands? at least in comic form?  I can’t speak to True Blood for certain, Doctor Who appears to be going strong on the small screen, but Joe appears to have no presence at toy fair, and Hasbro isn’t presenting anything at Joe con, we know of no design team for Joe, and recently one Joe comic ended (Costa’s Cobra Files)

Hama’s G.I.Joe a Real American Hero seems to be well loved by fans, infact it seems to have gained steam after early concerns over the return of the brain wave scanner, and accidental inclusion of the dead character Sneak Peek.

My not so educated Guess? G.I.Joe isn’t going anywhere, neither is Doctor Who, but the focus on them will be smaller, possibly going down to only 2 or less books a moth, and with less being produced IDW simply  may not feel they need to have a dedicated app for them.

Your thoughts?

G.I.Joe Spanish VHS tape, my foreign “collection”

I don’t have a vast foreign collection, or an eco warriors collection but in honor of the Club announcing the Zombie Hunters concept (that seems tied in with eco warriors)  I thought had share some shots of one of the neatest gifts i have ever been given. A friend of mine when on a trip to mexico somewhere between 2003-2005  (my memory is crappy) well past the heyday of VHS or Joe cartoons in general and brought back this wonderful VHS (Pictured with the same VHS in English that I purchased years before) -revsears
