Lego Castlevania
I almost want to see him die, so i can see him break up into pieces
Sadly there is no lego tie in with Castlevania on the horizon but over at the Retro Gaming Blog there is an excellent image of a physical lego set up. The stage style would be great for recreating plenty of classic video game looks.

G.I.Joe convention exclusive figure images released + thoughts
The club has released preview images of 3 of the figures, Cobra Mortal, Frag Vipers and Letal (Frag Viper Leader)
I have to say I am instantly disappointed. Cobra mortals legs are the spindly 25th CC legs, and the frag and Letal viper bodies belong to the new “ultimate” se from Retaliation that has yet to see released. I really feel that those knees especially look awkward and the overall feel of that mold is more superhero than Joe. Letal’s colors, unless he actually glows in the dark, are far too bright and extreme for my taste. Looking on the positive side though, the frag viper’s headsculpt is very nicely down and the gear is great too. Last year the con seemed to to start with a bang and show their best figures first, but judging from the known list of figures the set will include, i don’t think that’s the case this year.

JoeDeclassified issue 5 is up
I’m big fans of the folks at JoeDeclassified. They have some great information about behind the scenes of the G.I.Joe property including canceled, rare, or unproduced toys. They also produce an excellent podcast. Before the podcast came around, they also issued magazines online. A new issue is up and i think it’s worth checking out. The issue itself is here.

Unicorn City movie review: Table Top RPGs, LARP, and Love
Indie nerd friendly movies are a trend of today. As a child, or even a teenager I would have never dreamed of the likes of the Guild, Gamers, or Unicorn City.
Unicorn City has a name that will instantly repel some male viewers (and conversely may attract others) but everyone should look past it’s name, because this movie isn’t about unicorns, but a comedic take on following the nerd dream and finding nerd love. A minimum spoiler review is after the trailer.
Devin Mcginn plays Voss, the movie opens in a comic shop in the midst of DnD Game and Voss’s struggle with his DM, and antagonist, Shadowhawk. We quickly learn Voss is like many of us have been at some point in our lives, a frustrated dreamer. He has high hopes for an impossible job he has applied, and continues to reject the mundane world of his brother’s taco van.
In an attempt to get the job he, and his friends, squat on some land and make Unicorn City, a utopia for gamers. The laughs come quickly as we see them battle a constructed monster on top of a car in LARP style (Live Action Role Play) attract others like a succubus, and a centaur (whose horse half is a decorated color.)
Voss is clueless to the love of the shy Marsha. As much as Felcia Day is well liked in the nerd community, I’m actually thankful this wasn’t here. The role felt similar to what Day played on the guild, but Jaclyn Hales imo did an excellent job, and i think she could take on Day for the role of nerd queen. Women in general are treated well here. In the past year the internet has erupted in a storm of controversy over wither are not geek girls are real etc. but the portrayal of women here are as in genuine nerds who happen to be women too.
The movie has some memorable moments, the knife on the little miniature, the cooler centaur, especially his pee, as well as a few decent twists on the end. The story is solid with a good conclusion. The effects are good but sparse, the acting is superb and overall it felt like a bunch of real nerds having real fun, and that is so contagious you might find yourself encouraging others to watch the movie as i am now.
For those of who are interested in scores by numbers, it easily earned 5 stars on Netflix from my profile.
The original voice for Vigo in GhostBusters 2
I had no idea that the actor who portrayed Vigo physically did not provide his voice as well. Now we can hear the original voice thanks to youtube. Credit for this story goes to Buzzfeed, click here for what they had to say.

Unproduced Jurassic Park G.I.Joe closes out on ebay for $360.99!
Some lucky collector has a unique piece to show off. The Ebay auction ended for a large amount and for the buyer’s sake i hope it stays rare. While the newest JP figure (first picture below) appears to very rare, and only previously seen with a G.I.Joe collectors club Adventure team head, one of the early figures (Bottom picture) initially was rare but can be bought for 10.00 or less, (which I did myself)
25th Xamot/Tamox arms, gung-HO torso,vest and legs, and a BBTS exclusive Red Dog head.
Resolute roadblock body and parts, with a resolute Duke head. I own this figure and he is excellent.
with the recent announcement of a new JP movie, i’m still hoping for some form of this line to finally retail. (I talked about that here)

Django Unchained toys pulled due to insensitivity and depication of slavery, now worth lots of money
The recently released Tarantino film had already caused a stir when there was talk of “shooting white people.” Now due to the connection with slavery in the film the Weinstein company has ordered all the action figures pulled.
This of course have already affected the prices on Ebay. As these were already connected with the controversial Tarantino, and aimed at adult collectors, I’m not sure what the problem.

Letal is a foreign take on the Frag viper, hit and run is not originally in the Night force, and Asp was previously the name of a vehicle. Cobra Mortal is a more well known foreign figure, and night force is probably the most liked sub team.
